Quisquilia III
for piccolo, viola and harp
year: 2020
duration: 0'25'' c.a.
dedicated to New Gates Trio

program notes:
During the strange pandemic period I started writing small compositions that I decided to call "Quisquilia". This for piccolo, viola and harp is the third Quisquilia in the series. This term "quisquilia" in Italian means "something not important" and this title derives from a reflection on individual moments of life, on small things.
This composition is structured as a rapid crescendo in which some dark musical figures are repeated in variations, with some rapid peaks, until a pounding climax is reached.
