Quisquilia I

for clarinet

year: 2020

duration: 1'30'' c.a.

program notes:

During the strange pandemic period I started writing small compositions that I decided to call "Quisquilia". This for clarinet in particular is the first Quisquilia in the series. This term "quisquilia" in Italian means "something not important" and this title derives from a reflection on individual moments of life, on small things.

The structure of the composition is constructed developing two fundamental musical figures. Twice this musical development is interrupted by an instrumental scream and the second time this scream will trigger a sound cell that will lead to the end of the composition.
