Quisquilia II
for clarinet
year: 2020
duration: 2'05'' c.a.
program notes:
During the strange pandemic period I started writing small compositions that I decided to call "Quisquilia". This for flute in particular is the second Quisquilia in the series. This term "quisquilia" in Italian means "something not important" and this title derives from a reflection on individual moments of life, on small things.
The piece includes a rapid evolution of 2 musical figures that germinate and intersect each other, until the arrival of an external element, which causes structural disintegration and leads to the inexorable end of the composition.
